Remove Lightroom AI Denoise markers
AI Denoise, AI masking and Lens Blur are ordinary parts of a modern raw workflow, and they leave traces that read as AI involvement. A wedding or wildlife shoot cleaned up with Denoise can come out of Lightroom carrying markers.
Strip them from the exported JPEG without touching the picture or losing your camera data.

What Lightroom AI Denoise writes into your image
| Field | Contents |
|---|---|
| EXIF Software | Adobe Lightroom with version |

| C2PA | Present on some export paths and newer versions |
What it reveals
What someone with your file can learn
- Which AI-assisted adjustments you applied, and how heavily
- Your full develop settings, which some photographers treat as craft
- Camera body serial number, lens and GPS carried from the raw file
Worth knowing
Lightroom AI Denoise workflow notes
- Denoise creates a new DNG before export, so the marker can appear on files you did not consciously run AI on.
- Export presets can be configured to limit metadata at source, worth checking before cleaning every delivery by hand.
- For client deliveries, AI-markers-only keeps copyright and creator intact, which matters if your licence depends on embedded attribution.
Questions
Lightroom AI Denoise metadata FAQ
›Does Lightroom AI Denoise make my photo count as AI-generated?
Not in any meaningful sense, it is noise reduction on a photograph you took. But it is an AI-assisted process, and the markers it leaves can be read that way by automated platform checks.
›How do I keep my copyright but remove the AI markers?
Use AI-markers-only mode. Creator, copyright and camera fields are preserved; C2PA, XMP generation blocks and AI-fingerprinted fields are removed.
›Should I fix this in Lightroom instead?
If every export is affected, yes, adjusting your export preset to limit metadata is less work than cleaning each file. Use this tool for deliveries already exported, and for checking whether a preset change actually worked.
