Remove AI labels from Pinterest pins
Pinterest reads C2PA content credentials on upload and can mark a pin as AI-generated or AI-modified. For sellers this lands hardest on product mockups: which are exactly the files most likely to have passed through an AI-assisted editor.
Clean the image before you pin it. Nothing leaves your browser.
- Etsy & POD mockups
- Batch up to 30
- Keeps colour profile

Why sellers hit this
Mockups are the usual cause
A print-on-demand mockup has usually been through several tools before it reaches Pinterest: a generator or template, a background removal step, maybe a sky or shadow fix, then an export. Any one of those can write provenance, and the resulting pin gets labelled even though you are selling a real physical product.
The commercial problem is that an AI-modified label on a product pin reads as a claim about the product, not about the editing. That is the gap worth closing, and it is closed by cleaning the file, not by changing how you shoot.
- Mockup generators: many write their own XMP or C2PA into the export.
- AI background removal: the single most common trigger on product photography.
- Canva exports: AI features write provenance even when the design is mostly yours.
- Upscalers: AI upscaling writes generation metadata into the enlarged file.
Workflow
Cleaning a batch of pins before you schedule
- 1
Check one file first
Drop a single representative export in and look at what is actually there. If the trigger is one export setting, fixing that is less work than cleaning every file forever.
- 2
Run the set as a batch
Up to 30 files at a time. Each is listed separately with its own findings, so you can see which ones carried markers.
- 3
Keep the colour profile
Leave Keep colour profile on. Product colour accuracy matters commercially, and dropping the ICC profile shifts how colours render.
- 4
Pin the cleaned files
Schedule from the cleaned copies. Pinterest reads at upload, so a pin that is already live has to be recreated.
Keep a master copy
Clean the files you publish, not your archive. Camera settings, copyright and edit history are worth keeping on the originals you keep privately, the AI-markers-only mode exists for exactly this.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
›Does Pinterest label AI images?
Yes. Pinterest reads C2PA content credentials and can mark pins as AI-generated or AI-modified based on what it finds in the uploaded file.
›Why is my product photo labelled when it is a real product?
Because an AI-assisted step in your editing wrote provenance into the file, most often AI background removal, an AI upscale, or a mockup generator. The product is real; the file is declaring that an AI tool was involved in producing the image.
›Can I clean a whole product catalogue at once?
In batches of 30. There is no account or quota, because the work happens on your machine rather than on a server, so you can run as many batches as you need.
›Will cleaning change how my product colours look?
Not if you leave "Keep colour profile" enabled, which is the default. The ICC profile is what tells a browser how to render your colours, and the pixel data itself is never re-encoded.
