Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 November 2026.
By using this site you agree to these terms. They are deliberately brief, because the service is free, requires no account, and does not hold your data.
What the service is
Remove AI Label is a free browser-based tool that reads image metadata and removes it. It supports JPEG, PNG and WebP. It runs on your device and stores nothing.
No account is required and no payment is taken. We may change, limit or discontinue the service at any time.
Acceptable use
Use the tool on files you own or have permission to modify. That is the one substantive condition.
Do not use the service to remove copyright management information from someone else's work in order to conceal ownership or infringe their rights. In several jurisdictions, including under section 1202 of the US DMCA, that carries its own liability, separate from any copyright infringement.
Do not attempt to use the service to break the law, to misrepresent the origin of content where disclosure is legally required, or to disrupt the site for others.
Disclosure obligations are yours
Removing metadata from a file does not remove any legal or contractual duty you may have to disclose that content is AI-generated. The EU AI Act places transparency obligations on providers and deployers of generative systems, and many platforms require disclosure in their own terms.
Those duties attach to you and to how you publish, not to what a file contains. Using this tool does not discharge them, and we make no representation that it does.
No warranty
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that removing metadata will prevent any particular platform from applying an AI label, because platforms also use visual classifiers and pixel watermarks that no metadata tool can affect.
We do not guarantee the service will be available, error free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Keep your own backups. The tool is designed never to modify your original file, but you are responsible for your own data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the service, including lost data, lost revenue, or consequences of a platform labelling or removing your content.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated version. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
