Remove AI Label

Read-only · nothing is changed

See what is inside an image before you decide anything

The checker reads the file and lists every field it finds, C2PA, XMP, EXIF, GPS, IPTC and PNG text, with the actual values. It never writes a file and never offers a download.

Use it to find out why a platform labelled your photo, or to confirm a file is clean before you publish it.

How to read it

What the results mean

C2PA found
A signed provenance manifest. The most reliable trigger for an AI label on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Removing it handles most metadata-driven labels.
XMP with generation tags
Prompt text, seed, model name or an IPTC source type of trainedAlgorithmicMedia. Common from Midjourney and Adobe tools.
PNG text chunks
Stable Diffusion parameters or a ComfyUI workflow, stored as readable text. Anyone with the file can read your prompt.
EXIF only, no AI marker
Normal for a camera photo. Watch the Software field, it can still name an AI editor. And check whether GPS is present.
Nothing found
The file carries no readable metadata. If a platform still labels it, the cause is visual, a classifier or a pixel watermark, and no metadata tool will change that.

Questions

Checker FAQ

›What does the AI image checker actually check?

It parses the file and lists every metadata block it finds, with the real field names and values: C2PA manifests, XMP generation tags, EXIF including GPS, IPTC fields and PNG text chunks. It reports what the parser found, not a guess.

›Can it tell me if an image is AI-generated?

It can tell you whether the file declares itself as AI-generated. That is a different and more honest question. An AI image stripped of metadata will read clean here, and a real photograph edited with Generative Fill will show AI markers. Metadata is evidence, not proof.

›Does checking change my file?

No. This page is read-only, it never produces an output file and never offers a download. Use the cleaner if you want to remove what the checker finds.

›Why do other checkers say my file is clean when it is not?

Because many only look for C2PA. We tested a leading tool with a plain JPEG carrying GPS and a Software field reading "Adobe Photoshop 25.0 (Generative Fill)": it reported "Metadata percentage 0%" and called the file clean for upload.

›Is my image uploaded to check it?

No. Parsing runs in a Web Worker in your browser. You can disconnect from the network and the checker still works, which is the simplest way to confirm it.
