AI only metadata remover
Built for one specific problem: you took a real photograph, used an AI assisted edit, and the file now declares AI involvement. You want the marker gone and your camera data kept.
This mode removes C2PA, XMP and PNG text outright, and removes EXIF only when the EXIF itself carries a generator fingerprint.
- Keeps exposure and lens
- Keeps copyright
- Also keeps GPS

The rule
Exactly what each mode does
| Everything | AI markers only | |
|---|---|---|
| C2PA manifest | Removed | Removed |
| XMP generation tags | Removed | Removed |
| PNG text chunks | Removed | Removed |
| EXIF naming an AI tool | Removed | Removed |
| Ordinary camera EXIF | Removed | Kept |
| Copyright and creator | Removed | Kept |
| GPS coordinates | Removed | Kept |
AI only mode keeps your location
GPS lives inside the EXIF block, so preserving camera settings preserves coordinates too. If the shoot location is sensitive, use Everything and accept the loss of exposure data.
How it decides
What counts as a generator fingerprint
The EXIF block is scanned for known generator and AI feature names in fields such as Software, Artist and user comments. A match means the block is removed; no match means it is kept intact.
So a file reading "Adobe Photoshop 25.0 (Generative Fill)" loses its EXIF, while one reading "Digital Photo Professional" keeps it. The decision is visible in the findings list before you download anything.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
›Who is AI only mode for?
Photographers and retouchers delivering real work that passed through an AI assisted step, where camera settings, creator and copyright need to survive but the AI marker does not.
›Does it keep GPS?
Yes, because GPS is part of the EXIF block it preserves. That is a deliberate trade off, and the wrong choice if privacy rather than labelling is your concern.
›What if my EXIF names an AI tool?
Then that EXIF block is removed, because keeping it would defeat the purpose. You will see this in the findings before you download.
›Is the output still verified?
Yes. The pixel payload is still checked byte for byte, and the rescan accounts for the fields the mode deliberately keeps rather than reporting them as failures.
