Remove AI Label

Clean CapCut exports before you upload

CapCut is the most common hidden source of AI labels on TikTok and Instagram. Several of its features, AI background removal, auto-enhance, retouch and some templates, write provenance into exported stills.

The footage is yours. The export declares that an AI tool touched it.

How CapCut handles AI metadata

  • Markers are written at export, so the file you upload carries them even though your source footage does not.
  • Cover images exported from CapCut are the single most common trigger for a TikTok label on an otherwise ordinary video.
  • Templates can carry provenance from the template author in addition to your own edits.
  • The same project exported at different settings can carry different metadata.

Questions

CapCut metadata FAQ

›Why does my CapCut video get an AI label on TikTok?

Usually the cover image rather than the video. CapCut writes provenance into exported stills when AI features were used, and TikTok reads the cover as a separate upload.

›Which CapCut features cause this?

AI background removal is the most common, followed by auto-enhance, retouch and some templates. Background removal in particular is rarely thought of as an AI feature.

›Can you clean the exported MP4?

No. This tool handles JPEG, PNG and WebP. MP4 uses a different container and can carry its own C2PA, which we do not parse, so we will not claim your video is clean.
